A special chartered plane on Thursday brought the body of Sant Rama Nand, who died in an attack in Vienna last month, from Vienna to New Delhi.

The chartered flight which brought the body of Sant Ramanand stopped at New Delhi airport briefly, where many political leaders paid their respects to the religious leader.

The cremation will take place with full state honours at Ballan near Jalandhar on Thursday afternoon.

Tight security arrangements have been made and additional security forces have been deployed. Thousands of Dera followers from all across Punjab and other states, are expected to attend the ceremony.

Guru Ramandand, 57, the deputy head of the 'Dera Sachkhand Ballan', had succumbed to his injuries received during the clash between the two rival groups of Sikh worshippers that also left 17 people injured last Sunday.
