Slashers attack girl in Mongolpuri

delhi Updated: Apr 02, 2011 23:59 IST

Two men attacked an 18-year-old girl with a knife in Mongolpuri area in outer Delhi on Friday evening. This is the ninth such incident in the past three months.

According to police, motorcycle-borne men targeted the girl in Mondgolpuri on Friday night. The police said that the girl suffered injuries on the neck. She was immediately taken to the nearby Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital, where her condition is said to be stable.

Police said the girl was going back home after her tuition classes when she was attacked.

“While she was near her house in N-Block in the area, two men on a bike approached her. The pillion apparently took out a knife and slit her neck. The two then fled from the spot,” said a senior police officer.

The outer Delhi police had busted a similar gang of “blade men” in December 2010. The incidents, however, continue unabated.
