Enforcement Directorate (ED) sleuths visited Tihar jail on Friday to quiz Suresh Kalmadi, the former chairman of the Organising Committee of Commonwealth Games, 2010, in connection with its probe into the Timing, Scoring and Results (TSR) scam.
Former OC joint director general ASV Prasad and former OC deputy director general (procurement) Surjit Lal were also questioned. The ED is investigating charges of money laundering in the scam.
The CBI has already charge sheeted Kalmadi, former OC director general VK Verma, former OC secretary general Lalit Bhanot, Prasad, Lal and few other former officer bearers.
The CBI has alleged that by awarding the TSR contract to a Switzerland-based company Swiss Timing, the OC suffered a loss of around R95 crore. Now the ED is investigating where this "crime proceed" is parked.
Verma was questioned a few days back in the matter. The ED team was led by its assistant director Sharad Chaudhry. According to sources, it couldn't complete questioning Kalmadi as he was not well.
