The lone swimming pool run by the South Corporation, which was supposed to open its doors for learners and swimming enthusiasts on April 1, is yet to be functional this season.

This swimming pool at Rajouri Garden located at the West Zone of the corporation opens on April 1 every year. “However, this year it has not opened on time and it is unclear when it will start functioning,” a source in the South Delhi Municipal Corporation said.

The civic body, according to the source, spends Rs. 9.5 lakh annually in maintenance of the pool complex along with a section of an additional Rs. 3.8 lakh kitty, which is earmarked for new furniture for new community halls, swimming pool and recreation centre.
