Asturia, a principality of Spain, has offered its expertise in public transport, treatment of waste and water management to the Delhi Government.
The offer of cooperation was made by Asturia's President Vicente Alvarez Areces to Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit in Delhi on Wednesday.
"In the meeting, we explored collaboration in public services, especially in treatment of urban waste and water, and public transport," Areces said on the sidelines of his meeting with members of FICCI on Thursday.
Asturia is known for building infrastructure for public transport, including railways and construction of tunnels.
A business delegation accompanying the Asturian President also met the top officials of the government-owned Rail India Technical and Economic Services (RITES) to explore possibilities of joining its projects.
The Asturian principality can also join RITES for third country infrastructure projects in the Middle-East and Latin America, Areces said.
The delegation also met the management team of the Tata group.
"We have identified (with the Tatas ) areas like steel, railways, engineering, biospheres, industrial installations and environment projects for cooperation," the Asturian President said.
