Speeding roadways bus mows down cyclist
A cylist died after he was hit by a speeding UP roadways city bus on Friday night around 9:45 p.m, HT reports.
A cylist died after he was hit by a speeding UP roadways city bus on Friday night around 9:45 p.m. Forty-year-old Suresh Mishra, a driver with HCL in Noida, was returning home at Sadarpur when the accident took place. Police said the bus driver has been arrested.
Sub Inspector Subhash Chand Gautam said, “Ramesh Mishra, the brother of the victim, has lodged a complaint against the bus driver. The bus was coming from Sector 37. It hit the cyclist, who started bleeding profusely. He was rushed to the hospital but he died on the way.”
Pramod Kumar, the driver of the bus, was arrested on Saturday afternoon and the bus has been impounded. A mobile phone and some papers were recovered from the pocket of the victim which helped in his identification.
The Sub Inspector said, “The bus driver said the cyclist was crossing the road and that he could not see him due to flash lights of vehicles coming from the opposite side of the road.”
