Manav Rachna International School, Sector –14, Faridabad organised its Sports meet, ‘ Olympia ’ for which the mascot was ‘Polly’ the Polar Bear.

The Chief Guest of the event was DS Dhesi, Joint Secretary of Industry and Labour Ministry while the special guest was Mohd Kaif, International Cricket Player. Dr. OP Bhalla, Chairman, Manav Rachna Intl. University and other members of the management were also present on the occasion.

The meet was declared open by releasing the symbolic pigeons and balloons. The event began with the March Past followed by a colourful performance, ‘A Goan dance’.

Track and field events comprised of various fun races and relays.

Principal Mamta Wadhwa highlighted sporting achievements and gave away prizes.

The Sanskriti Club of Modern School , Vasant Vihar organized an evening of music and dance conducted by the famous Baul artist, Parvathy Baul. She mesmerised the audience with her lilting voice as she sang of divine love and spiritual oneness.

Music was provided to the mystic words as she plucked on the Ektara and drummed the Duggi. The evening was attended by the Chairperson of the school, Anuradha Singh along with special guests and music lovers. Principal, Goldy Malhotra appreciated her performance.

Tagore International School, Vasant Vihar held its annual Performing Art Festival ‘Samavesh’ on the theme, ‘Rediscovering Tagore’ to pay tribute to the great Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore.

The festival is a culmination of the year-long activities and effort made during the performing art and club-activity classes held on a weekly

basis for the students through the session.

Theatre students from classes I to V paid tribute to Him as a playwright by staging his plays like Kabuliwala, Wish fulfillment, Shiburam, Tota, and Chuhe Ki Dawat. The Rabindra Nritya and Bengali and Rajasthani Folk by the Dance groups were also presented. There were various musical performances also.

The highlight of the event was an art and craft exhibition where the paintings and the sculptures in clay were
displayed.

Some of his poetry like Golden Boat, Brink of Eternity, Where the Mind is Without Fear was depicted in models in clay and in paintings.

The performance concluded with Principal Madhulika Sen’s speech, in which the efforts of all the participants and the teachers were commended.
