St.Mark's, Meera Bagh, excels at lit fest

The 5th ODYSSEY (International Litfest) organised by City Montessori School, Lucknow, proved to be a great platform for students of St.Mark's Senior Secondary Public School, Meera Bagh to showcase their talent.

Shubhankar Jain walked away with the 1st Prize in creative writing and Dev Soni received a commendation certificate for elocution. The students excelled in 'Clincher Campaign' - Protect, Preserve, Propagate - a social issue.

They presented a mock campaign against the society's ignorance towards Leprosy and Lepers and propagated the message - 'A new face of Leprosy - Healing Bodies, Opening Minds'. They were awarded the 1st prize for their effort.

The students came back enriched with the message of world peace given by Dr.Jagdish Gandhi, the founder of CMS group of schools.

Birla Vidya Niketan, Pushp Vihar celebrated its 29th Foundation day recently. On this occasion the school felicitated academic achievers and awarded merit scholarships to deserving students.

Arvinder Singh Lovely, Delhi minister for urban development, graced the occasion as the chief guest and Nila Madhab Panda, the filmmaker was the guest of honour.

Principal Minakshi Kushwaha presented the school report before the august gathering of managing committee, dignitaries and parents. The students presented a cultural programme titled 'Reaching for the stars.'

The chief guest praised the students of BVN and emphasised on the need for holistic and meaningful learning. The vote of thanks was proposed by the vice principal Desmond D' Monte.

Four students of Ganga International School, Hiran Kudna, Delhi have been selected to represent India in the VII World Junior & Cadet Kurash Championship to be held at Bournemouth in Britain.

Karan Singh, Amit Dahiya, Himanshu Khanna and Parveen Maan will be representing the country in U-16 category. School chairman Dr. Sushil Gupta & principal Charu Kapoor wished success to all the participants.

To mark the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Indirapuram Group of Institutions organised an 'Indirapuram Mini Marathon- Run for Peace and Pride.'

The Olympian, Yogeshwar Dutt, was the chief guest along with Meena Singh, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha and chairperson, Indirapuram Group of Institutions, Vishal Singh, the institutions' managing director, and Shalini Singh, chairman, Tapindu Educational Society.

The marathon was flagged off by Meena Singh in which 500 students participated. The chief guests awarded all the top fifty runners with trophies and certificates.
