A formidable lineup of Olympic and world champions hit the Commonwealth Games pool for the first time Monday, with Australia and England expected to renew a traditional rivalry and a confident Canada hopeful of making it a three-way medal race.

With Jamaican sprinters Usain Bolt and Asafa Powell and many of the biggest stars missing from the track and elsewhere, it's left to the six-day swim program at the Dr. SP Mukherjee Aquatics Complex in New Delhi to provide some genuine star power.

Australia's Leisel Jones, winner of two gold medals at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, will lead Australia's 52-member swim team, joining Emily Seebohm, who will attempt to equal Michael Phelps' Beijing Olympics feat of winning eight gold medals in a meet.
