The final day of the two-day event, the Hindustan Times Aspirations 2010, witnessed an overwhelming response from the students and visitors at the Convention Hall in The Ashok Hotel on Sunday.

Day two of the career fair was devoted to personalised counselling for Delhi University aspirants. The large number of students who had come to get their doubts cleared kept the counsellors occupied throughout the day.

Parmeet Singh, a counsellor with Expressions India, said, “We’ve been kept on our toes since the morning by students and their parents. The chats have been forthright and comprehensive with most visitors appreciating our efforts.”

With over 15 counsellors covering seven interaction booths, visitors did not have to wait long for their turn. The free informative content about further study options and career alternatives called ‘The Hindustan Times 100 Great Careers 2010’ kept students and parents busy, and helped in answering a lot of queries.

Ashish Jain, a student, said that the content was beautifully prepared and organised, and the counselling had helped him a lot. Similarly, Sejal, who had come with a lot of queries, said that he is going back satisfied and has decided upon his future options.

A lot of queries were asked on the prospects after graduating in journalism, commerce, languages, animation, sciences, hospitality and law courses.

Besides, there were queries on BTech vs B Sc (Hons) programs, an old dilemma that has troubled students from the science stream. The personalised-counselling had a calming effect on a lot of anxious students and parents. Devendra, a parent said, “It is a commendable job that HT is doing.
