Students, parents attack school over Akkriti

Aakriti Bhatia's death from asthma snowballed into a major controversy as anguished parents and screaming students accused the authorities at the Modern School Vasant Vihar of being negligent and insisted on the principal's resignation.
Under pressure from angry parents and students, Modern School, Vasant Vihar, announced an internal inquiry into the death of Akkriti Bhatia, a Class XII student, on Monday.
Chaos reigned at the press conference called by the school on Thursday. Apart from Akkriti’s parents, many students too blamed the school.

Ashok Pratap Singh, managing trustee, Modern School Trust, said the school was initiating an inquiry into the death. “We’ll also review our medical facilities and undertake any kind of upgrade that’s required,” he said.
Akkriti had died on way to hospital after she suffered an asthma attack in school.
The Delhi government also ordered a probe into the death.
