The National Museum’s programme ‘Yuva Saathi’ was inaugurated on Wednesday evening in the presence of Chandresh Kumari Katoch, Union Minister for Culture. Under this project, college students were trained to guide school students on their visit to the museum.
The first batch of this programme had 30 undergraduate students who were trained for three months by the curators and specialists from the national museum.
During the training students from different schools were called in to experience and test the tour. Chandresh Kumari Katoch said that she was happy to see an encouraging response from the students.
“The main aim is to get the younger generation interested in all aspects of Indian culture. I hope that our museums in the other cities launch similar programmes for children,” said Katoch.
