Last-minute changes in awarding tickets are still causing infighting in political parties. In one such incident, a supporter of BJP candidate Kulwant Kaur was injured during a clash with supporters of Lata Gupta, who got the final ticket from Pandav Nagar.

The incident took place on Saturday night when Lata was inaugurating her election office at Pandav Nagar. Irked over the denial of ticket to Kaur, her supporters intervened and started shouting slogans against Lata.

“We were in our newly inaugurated office when we heard women shouting slogans against us. When we went out, we saw people fighting with each other. Soon, the police were called in and the situation was controlled,” said Rajesh Kumar Gupta, Lata’s husband.

However, Kaur’s son-in-law rubbished the allegations, saying that they were not involved.“They are upset with the party that they have given the ticket to some other candidate. We were not involved anywhere, in fact, we tried to control the situation,” said Anmol Rana.
