A speeding SUV overturned injuring four people who were sleeping on a pavement in near the Jama Masjid in New Delhi, police said on Sunday.
The incident took place 12.30 am on Sunday when 25-year-old Ankit Sharma lost control over the wheel of his Tata Safari and hit the divider near in central Delhi, a police officer said.
"After hitting the divider, the vehicle overturned and crushed the four people sleeping on the pavement. They were rushed to the Lok Nayak Jaiprakash hospital. Two of the injured have been discharged while two are still undergoing treatment," the officer said.
Ankit was arrested but his medical report has ruled out that he was driving under the influence of alcohol, police said.
