Four members of a betting syndicate were nabbed while transacting a huge amount in the semi-final match during the T-20 cricket World Cup, police officials said.

Police arrested Hatish Channa, Gaurav Gupta, Rajiv Kumar and Rahul Chandna from the Ambedkar Road commercial complex area of Ghaziabad late on Friday night.

During a raid, officials also recovered around Rs 2 lakh from the accused, who had already transacted over Rs 85 lakh during the Australia-Pakistan semi-final, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Raghubir Lal said.

“In all, around 65 people involved with the betting syndicate and four other people have been arrested during the raids,” Lal said.
