In another hearing in the Aarushi-Hemraj double-murder case, prosecution-witness Rajiv Kumar Varshney deposed before a Ghaziabad court on Monday and stated that he saw blood-stains on the terrace-door, its lock and also on the staircase that leads towards the terrace-door of Talwars’ flat.
He had arrived at the Talwar residence on the morning of May 16, 2008, after hearing the news about Aarushi’s murder.
Varshney is friend of Rajesh and Nupur Talwar and had reached their residence between 8.00-8.30am. There, he’d seen the police and media persons gathered on the ground floor.
“I walked upstairs where the door was locked. I thought it’d been blocked and went back. The terrace door and its lock had blood-stains,” Varshney stated.
Thereafter, he went to the Talwars’ flat and went inside to find Rohit Kocchar and his wife in the drawing room. He told them about the blood spots.
“Then Dr Kocchar and I went towards the terrace door and I pointed it out to him. On close examination, we also spotted bloodstains on the stairs. After a policeman arrived, we told him,” he stated.
They both had returned to the Talwar’s flat where they joined the others. “At the same time, Rajesh Talwar came out of his flat, walked to the staircase and immediately came back and went inside his flat," he said.
