An in-service training programme was recently held at Laxman Public School, Hauz Khas. The event comprised various sessions that were geared to the needs of the teachers. The objective of the programme was to prepare the teachers as 21st century professionals.

There were different segments of the in-service training programme. Dr Usha Ram held an interactive session on 21st century teachers – transforming pedagogy, in which the use of new technology to aid the intellectual development of individuals was discussed.

Besides this, the facilitator laid importance on fostering global competencies and quest for excellence. For the intellectual development an elaborate, book review session was held wherein teachers gave insightful inputs on books that have helped in their personal and professional growth.

The quiz and the yoga sessions helped the teachers in honing their mental and physical growth.

Shaheed Rajpal DAV Public School, Dayanand Vihar participated in the UK India Cultural Exchange Programme under UKIERI, a project of the British Council. Principal Renu Laroiya and Pamila Dhar, were the delegates who carried the magic of Indian classical music and yoga to the land of the Thames.

Their visit to the UK-based school, Croydon, aimed at developing educational links. The project focused on ‘Indian Classical Music and Yoga’ for personality development of students.

Delhi Public School Ghaziabad in collaboration with Selaqui Academy of Higher Education hosted a Career Fest recently. Principal Jyoti Gupta addressed the career opportunities and facilities for the students.

Priyanka Mehta, Principal DPS Ghaziabad International appreciated the efforts. Chief Guest Dr VS Ravindran, psychologist and trainer, urged the audience to focus on developing life skills. This was followed by an interactive session wherein the questions fielded by the parents were answered by the director.

Students of Ryan International School, Ghaziabad completed the Beyond Breaking News course — a media initiative by Ryan International Group of Institutions.

It comprised of imparting formal training to young student journalists which included course on line data and hands on training at the fully equipped studio at Ryan, Mumbai.

The students learnt the skill of camera handling, news presentation, editing etc. Students were felicitated with a certificate for being qualified as ‘Young Jourknows’.

These students fulfilled the vision of the chairman Dr. Augustine F Pinto, as they now were equipped with the skills for another career option through ‘’Education through the Lens”.
