A day after anti-graft crusader Anna Hazare was taken to Medanta-The Medicity in Gurgaon, members of India Against Corruption (IAC) campaign spent quality hours with the veteran in fruitful discussions on Monday.
On the day Hazare was admitted to the hospital after ending his fast that began on August 16, key IAC campaigner Arvind Kejriwal spent the night at the hospital and remained there through the day on Monday as well.
Two other members of team Anna, Manish Sisodia and Vibhav Kumar, also spent the day at the hospital.
Two of the several people from Hazare's village Ralegan Siddhi were also at the hospital.
"Annaji is recuperating pretty well. We discussed with him several issues. Taking into consideration people's expectation from the campaign, their willingness to be part of it, one of the point of our discussion was about how to sustain the momentum," Sisodia told HT.
Team Anna's two key functionaries Kiran Bedi and Prashant Bhushan, however, did not visit Hazare at the hospital.
Few of the team IAC team members were busy in different meetings through the day. Others, especially those with the Public Cause Research Foundation (PCRF) — which acted as a secretariat for the IAC campaign — and the volunteers, were busy with completing chores related to the campaign's August episode.
After team Anna received a go ahead for the ground to be used as a venue for Hazare's indefinite fast, much work was done to getting it ready, including setting up tents, medical aid unit and other basic facilities.
A day after Hazare broke his fast, the team's work included, among other things, clearing payments, returning material brought to the ground to facilitate the agitation, completing written formalities and taking stock of donations among other things.
