A 16-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped inside a car by four men after being abducted from near her house in Laxmi Garden area of Loni on Tuesday.
The victim was rescued by the police the next day and the accused, who are also the victim’s neighbours, were arrested from Lalbagh Colony, police officials said.
The victim had lodged an FIR at the Loni police station. The accused, reportedly in the age group of 23-28 years, were arrested by the police while they were inside their car with the victim, officials said.
In her complaint, the victim said she was abducted while returning from a friend’s birthday party on August 31. The victim was raped after being rendered unconscious, Loni Station House Officer Raghunath Gautam said.
The accused were identified as Mohammed Qadir, Imran, Salman and Aamir. One of the accused is said to be the brother of a politician from Loni. Sources said the victim and the accused belong to different communities and pressure was being created on the victim’s family to withdraw the complaint.
"We have sent the girl for medical examination at MMG district hospital. The victim will be produced before a court for her statements under Section 164 of the CrPC," Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Raghubir Lal said.
The accused were produced before a Ghaziabad court, the SSP said.
