NEW DELHI: Delhi University aspirants will not have to even step out of their houses to pick a college this year.

In a paradigm shift, the undergraduate admission process has gone fully online, which begins June 1. From filling the application form to uploading documents, paying registration fee and also selecting the college everything can be done with the click of a button.

Students will only have go to the college only to verify the documents. Even the college admission fee can now be paid online through the DU portal.

“We are extending the mission of digital India further by making the entire process online. There are technical hassles but we have competent team to handle this,” said Kishore Kumar Das, DU admission committee spokesperson.

DU is conducting admission for 54,000 seats in 63 DU colleges.

Aspirants need to log into the DU portal ( du/), register and fill the application form. Students can select the courses in the form but not colleges. Only after the payment will the application be accepted. Apart from filling the form students will also have to upload copy of self attested class 10, 12 mark sheets and reserved category certificate. The size of the file should not be more than 200 KB. Similarly, the photograph and signature should also not be more than 50Kb each.

Starting this year, the students applying under the sports and extra-curricular activities (ECA) quota can also select the sports and ECA through the centralised admission form.

The process is online but students can get first-hand information from the university officials on open days.

The last day of application process is June 19. On June 27 colleges will release first cutoff list. Aspirants can check the college and the course they have qualified for and log onto the DU portal using the same registration number.
