Police on Wednesday arrested three arms-smugglers from CISF-cut area of Indirapuram and recovered three foreign-made pistols and several cartridges from their possession. Police said they were smuggled from Nepal.
The three accused were identified as Abdul Salam, Rifakat ali and Furkan Ali. "These people have smuggled hundreds of arms from Nepal and sold them to various suppliers in NCR areas. We have identified their main receiver, who owns a shop at Ghanta Ghar area of Ghaziabad and further supplied them to criminals in Western UP," inspector Rajesh Dwivedi said.
Officials said the trio visited Nepal several times and mingled with the local population. They sold foreign-made pistols at a price range of Rs 30,000 to Rs 50,000 to criminals.
