A man and his two sons were arrested for allegedly cheating a jewellery shop owner here of 2.5 kg of gold and ornaments worth around Rs1 crore, police said on Sunday.

Ashok Kumar (67), his two sons, Gaurav (30) and Bharat (31), hailing from Jaipur, were arrested at Malviya Nagar Metro station following a tip-off that they would be visiting Delhi to know the status of the case lodged against them.

The accused, who were earlier running a jewellery shop at Karol Bagh, came in contact with the owner of M/s Jagiri Lal Jewellers Pvt Ltd and started taking small orders. Initially, they made payments in time, but later they took 2.5 kg of gold and ornaments from it to execute an order and fled.
