Delhi police on Saturday were given three more months by a city court to complete their probe into the bombing of an Israeli diplomat’s car this February on the ground of the “probe going international”.
“This is for the first time that name of any country has appeared in any of your (the police’s) application,” chief metropolitan magistrate (CMM) Vinod Yadav remarked, allowing the police’s plea for more time to probe the case.
According to sources, the Delhi police application names Iranian nationals while the disclosure about the “probe going international” was made in a plea requesting more time to probe the February 13 terror attack case.
Senior journalist Syed Mohammed Ahmad Kazmi was arrested for his alleged role in helping four Iranians in the attack.
The in-camera proceeding was conducted on the application filed under the provisions of Unlawful Activities Prevention Act after public prosecutor Rajiv Mohan submitted that there are information which should not be made public.
