Aug 30, 1990: Sarabjit Singh arrested at Kasur border for illegally crossing the India-Pakistan border.

October 3, 1991: Sarabjit Singh sentenced to death on October 3, 1991 for bomb blasts in Lahore and Multan killing 14 people.

December 27, 2001: Pakistan high court dismissed his appeal.

2007: The Supreme Court of Pakistan confirmed his death sentence.

April 30, 2008: Sarabjit’s execution was fixed for this date but was indefinitely deferred by intervention of the Pakistan Prime Minister.

June 24, 2009: His review petition was dismissed by the Supreme Court on default on non-appearance of lawyer.

May 28, 2012: Sarabjit filed fifth mercy petition before the Pakistan President.

June 26, 2012: Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari pardons Sarabjit, converting his death sentence to life imprisonment paving way for his release from Kot Lakhpat jail in Lahore.
