Exposing a major loophole in airport security, two passengers got two boarding passes issued in the same name and later exchanged their tickets after the immigration check at the Delhi airport.

Since Terminal 3 of the airport is integrated, sometimes domestic and international passengers depart from the same area. On Wednesday around 1am, CISF intelligence received an input that two passengers had exchanged their travel documents in a toilet of the Interna-tional Security Hold Area (SHA).

"A passenger carrying travelling documents in the name of Subramanyam Thavas was stopped and interrogated. During questioning, he revealed that his actual name as Marvin and he was a businessman from Sri Lanka. He also revealed that he had been given fake travelling documents to go to Paris by an agent named Subramanyam Thavas from Chennai," Hemendra Singh, spokesperson of CISF said.

Marvin had obtained the boarding pass for Air India flight AI-317 to travel to Mumbai and crossed immigration as a domestic passenger. He then proceeded towards international SHA of Terminal-3. The second passenger had been issued a boarding pass for Air France flight AF-225 to Paris.

A case has been registered and Delhi Police are investigating the matter.
