A student of an airhostess academy died under mysterious circumstances in a south Delhi guesthouse, the police said on Sunday.
Shashi Rai, 23, was taken to hospital with injuries on her neck and stomach on Saturday. "Yesterday (Saturday) some of Shashi's friends came at the guest house's reception and claimed that the deceased slipped in the bathroom and was injured. They sought information about the nearest hospital and took her there. She later died at the hospital," a police official told IANS.
"But, the doctors found that the injury marks were made by stabbing with a sharp weapon," the official said.
Her body is kept at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and her friends are being interrogated, the official added.
A native of Jharkhand, Shahsi was living with her sister in Jaipur and was taking training at an airhostess academy.
She had come to Delhi on the intervening night of March 28-29 along with her friends Ashish, Nandwana, Manoh and Julie. They were staying at rooms 232 and 233 of the Central Guest House at Nizamuddin.
