A Delhi court, on Wednesday, sentenced two men to imprisonment till death for killing a boy in 2007 in a bid to sodomise him. The court called the two "beasts in human form and disgrace to mankind".
Describing the offence of two men, Tek Chand and Phool Singh as "rare", Additional Sessions Judge Kamini Lau also expressed concern over the state of children who become victims of the perverts.
"It horrifies me to see how our children, particularly those who spend their childhood on streets due to abject poverty, are subjected to unimaginable exploitation of the worst kind," the judge said.
"It is revolting to find the so-called humans preying on small children for satisfaction of their carnal lust. They are beasts in human form and are a disgrace to mankind," the court said.
The court also imposed a fine of R54,000 on each convict.
Out of the total fine, R1 lakh was to be paid to the victim's family who live in northwest Delhi's Jahangirpuri area.
The court allowed public prosecutor Taufiq Ahmed's plea that the offence was a "rare" one and specified the sentence should not be remitted by an administrative order.
