Money makes the world go round. It also makes friends kill each other. That is exactly what happened in Ghaziabad.
Two minors aged 16 and 14 allegedly killed their friend Nisran Ahmed (13) for a measly Rs 20,000.
The money had been allegedly offered to them by a woman from Vijay Nagar area, police officials said on Monday.
Nisran was found murdered near an under-construction site in Saveri area on NH-24 on April 20. His limbs had been studded with iron nails and he had been strangled to death with an electrical wire, police said.
During investigation the police questioned Nisran’s friends Rehman Ali (16, name changed) and Shahbaz Ahmed (14, name changed).
The two broke down during the interrogation and allegedly confessed that they had indeed killed Nisran for Rs 20,000.
The two also revealed that they had been offered the contract money by one Shabnam Khan (32). Shabnam allegedly wanted to get rid of Nisran who was her son’s friend.
“Shabnam ran a shop. Nisran and her son had taken some money from the cash-box of her shop. This infuriated her and she offered Ali and Ahmed Rs 20,000 to kill Nisran,” Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Raghubir Lal said.
The two boys took Nisran to an isolated spot and murdered him in cold blood, police said.
“Both the minors have been detained. The woman is absconding since the day of the incident. We have sent teams to nab her. Rehman seems to be of a destructive nature and could have easily murdered the child,” the SSP said.
The duo studied in class VII at a public school in Vijay Nagar area, police said.
The minors were sent to juvenile court at Meerut and were booked under section 302 (murder) and 201 (destruction of evidence) of IPC.
