Two robbed of Rs 18 lakh in North delhi

Two collection agents were beaten up and robbed of Rs 18 lakh by armed motorcycle-borne assailants on Wednesday night.

According to the police, as many as eight unidentified bike-borne assailants allegedly robbed two collection agents of a jeweller of their bag containing Rs 18 lakh at gunpoint in North Delhi's Civil Lines area.

According to the police, the victims, Monu and Vijay, were returning to their employer's residence in Shastri Nagar in an auto-rickshaw after collecting money from Lajpat Rai Market.

"The miscreants, who were wearing helmets and carrying pistols, snatched the bags after threatening the victims," said a senior police officer on the condition of anonymity.

The police have registered a case and looking into the role of an insider in the case.

The two work as collection agents for Mahendra Aggarwal. "I was informed about the incident by my employees,” said Aggarwal.
