President Pratibha Patil and Prince Charles will declare open the Commonwealth Game on Sunday, the British envoy to India Richard Stagg said on Friday. He added that British athletes were happy with the residential facilities.
The envoy said he had met all four teams from Britain and everyone seemed to be "very happy" with the facilities at the sprawling Games Village.
"They (athletes) said lots of things were better than previous Games like Manchester and Melbourne. They said what could have been a wonderful Village still has not reached its full potential." On security, he said the teams had been "reassured by the active role" of the Delhi Police regarding the athletes' safety.
