The staff council meeting of Dyal Singh College (morning) became a battleground on Thursday after teachers discovered the principal was secretly recording its proceedings.
The meeting broke up after teachers found out principal I.S. Bakshi was carrying a pinhole pen camera and had recorded 26 minutes.
“This is a breach of conduct and he should be sacked,” said C Sadasiva, president of the teachers association. A resolution was passed and a copy sent to various authorities, including the vice-chancellor and director, South Campus, said Sadasiva.
Bakshi admitted he secretly recorded the meeting. He said, “Since September 2007, some teachers has been creating ruckus over trivial issues. They disrupted three meetings last year and we couldn’t get any work done. So in my own wisdom I decided to record the proceedings in order to show how some teachers behave and waste everyone’s time.
