US Ambassador Timothy J Roemer on Friday met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and discussed the forthcoming G-20 summit of leaders of the world's 20 biggest economies in Pittsburgh in the US next week.
This is the first meeting of Roemer with the Prime Minister after he assumed charge last month.
The envoy discussed with the Prime Minister the summit scheduled on September 24-25, PMO sources said.
The Prime Minister is likely to leave for US on September 22 to participate in the summit meeting.
Before his meeting with the Prime Minister, Roemer met Home Minister P Chidambaram and said it was important that swift and lengthy punishment should be given to six Mumbai terror attack suspects, including LeT founder Hafiz Saeed, in that country.
