A video surfaced on Sunday showing a woman arguing with a group of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers to allow an ambulance to pass through a clogged road outside CR Park police station, where MLA Amanatullah Khan was kept after his arrest. Over 50 supporters blocked the road around the station to protest the arrest.
“What kind of an attitude is this? This is a daily drama. Go somewhere else and protest. There is an ambulance stuck in this jam. Why should thousands of people suffer because of your MLA?” the woman is shown shouting at the protesters.
After 10 minutes of heated argument, a passerby is seen offering her a ride to the hospital. The video was released by a news channel. It’s authenticity video could not be verified.
The video also shows AAP workers asking the woman to “do whatever she can” and “take a different route if she wants to”.
“Our MLA has been arrested and all you can think of is a patient,” a protester from the crowd is heard yelling at the woman.
The blockade had a ripple effect throughout the area, continuing till the Ring Road.
“We tried to convince AAP workers to vacate the road and not block emergency vehicle taking a patient to the hospital, but they refused to listen. We are filing an FIR against the protestors,” said deputy commissioner of police (southeast) MS Randhawa.
