Profession: A full-time politician and a farmer. He lives in his ancestral home in Bamnoli, Dwarka.
Education: BA (Pass) Delhi University, MA (Political Science), Osmania University, Hyderabad, Diploma in agriculture and cooperative movement in India from Tokyo.
Political career: President of college students’ union in 1973. Became president of District Youth Congress in 1975. That is when he vowed to follow Sanjay Gandhi’s five-point youth programme. “I have donated blood 73 times since 1975. This was one of the five points Sanjay Gandhi had propagated. I donate blood twice a year,” he said.
Family: Father was a government employee. Wife Indu Lochav has a B Ed degree but doesn’t teach. His two children plan to do MBA.
Cars: Owns a white Skoda Octavia that his daughter takes to college. He uses a Mahindra Scorpio. As the chairman of District Development Committee, he had a white Ambassador that he returned after the election dates were announced.
