It was a warm start to the week with partly cloudy skies enveloping Delhi on Monday morning and trapping the heat. The minimum temperature recorded was two notches above the average for this time of the year.
"The minimum temperature at 17.6 degrees Celsius was two degrees above the normal. The maximum is expected to go up to 31 degrees Celsius," an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.
"Whenever the skies are cloudy, it gets warm since the cloud cover traps the heat, which is the case today (Monday)," the official explained.
