This was where our first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru got married in 1916. The haveli which once had a cusp-arched gateway now lies not just in ruins but also resembles a garbage dump.
Daily life goes on in its vicinity with many people oblivious to the importance of the place. Facing the road on the western side of what now remains of haveli are a row of shops.
Haksars, a prominent Kashmiri family in the Gali Kashmiriyan - had given the place for Nehru's marriage. The Gali Kashmiriyan had havelis of important Kashmiri Pandits, hence the name.
