In a strange turn of events, a woman who lodged a case of road rage and assault against a man was charged similarly by him a week later.
Nivedita Wasnia lodged a case of road rage against a Ghaziabad-based businessman at the Defence Colony Police Station last week on Friday.
However, the businessman also registered a case of rash and negligent driving against Wasnia.
The police said that Wasnia (40) who works with an NGO alleged that the owner of the car whose car she met with an accident had misbehaved with her.
Police said that Wasnia was driving her Wagon R car near Andrews Ganj flyover on Ring road.
While taking a turn she rammed her car into another car, which was owned by a Ghaziabad based businessman, identified as Anil Goel (42).
Then a heated argument broke out between the two and police was called in.
Wasnia alleged that Goel misbehaved with her. On the basis of her complaint, the police lodged a road rage case against Goel and arrested him.
However Goel alleged that she was driving rashly and lodged a complaint against Wasnia as well.
“We had to take both of them into custody. A case of eve-teasing has been lodged against Goel,” said a senior police station.
Police said that Wasnia is unmarried and a resident of Gurgaon area, whereas Anil Goel, is a businessman and stays in Ghaziabad.
The police said that while Wasnia was booked for rash and negligent driving, Goel was charged for eve teasing.
The police said that despite the fact that none of the cars suffered much damage, the police had to take action against both of them as they kept on arguing with each other.
“We got a call about the accident, however, when we reached the spot the story was different. A heated argument ensued between the two and we had to take actions against them,” the investigating officers said.
The police said though the Wasnia runs a German NGO in the Capital.
