A 27-year-old woman had alleged that her neighbour kidnapped her from her mother’s house and raped her over a period of one month.

The police said the woman, whose husband is working in Dubai, has also alleged that the neighbour robbed her of Rs 80,000. She said she had kept the money for her father’s cancer treatment.

In her complaint to the police, the woman has claimed that she was kidnapped and taken to West Bengal by her neighbour Subhas Roy.

There, she claimed, he raped her at his sister’s house and held her captive for over a month. Roy is absconding and a medical test of the victim confirmed rape. A case was registered on November 30.

Additional Commissioner of Police (Southeast) Virender Singh said, “We have registered a case and are investigating the other claims.”

The woman has alleged that on October 28 Roy put a handkerchief on her mouth and she fell unconscious. She was home with her two-year-old daughter when Roy came to the house.

The woman said when she regained consciousness she was somewhere in West Bengal. Meanwhile, the woman’s mother reportedly found that her house had been ransacked and her daughter missing.

The police said on November 29, Roy left the victim in Jalandhar where she contacted her aunt who brought her to the Capital.

The police are investigating the matter.
