Two men — one of them a fireman — allegedly raped a 28-year-old woman at a guesthouse in central Delhi. Police said the accused had allegedly laced her soft drink with sedatives.

The incident happened on Thursday afternoon after the woman lodged a complaint against the accused at the Daryaganj Police Station.

Accused Naresh Dahiya, a fireman with Delhi Fire Services, and Chetan have been arrested. Police said the woman works as a personal secretary with a private firm in Gurgaon.

The victim had come to Connaught Place on Thursday with another woman to meet a relative. The victim was introduced to Dahiya by the other woman, said a senior police officer. Dahiya allegedly took her to a Paharganj guesthouse on the pretext of offering her work.

“They introduced themselves as husband and wife to the hotel manager and checked into room number 310,” said the police officer.

Dahiya allegedly served her soft drink with sedatives after she objected to his sexual advances. Then, Dahiya and Chetan allegedly raped her. Police have registered a case and are verifying her charges.
