Avneet Arya, working as an accounts manager with a central Delhi-based firm, never imagined in her wildest dream that a face massage at a nearby beauty parlour would cost her Rs 2.5 lakh. Arya’s bag containing cash and jewellery were stolen from the La Grace Beauty parlour in Karol Bagh on Sunday.
An FIR has been lodged in the local police station. The victim suspects that a parlour employee maybe involved in the incident. “I visited the parlour at around 11am. After stepping inside, I removed the jewellery and kept them inside my bag. At around 12.44pm, I went to another room to grab a magazine. When I returned, I found that my bag containing jewellery and cash worth R2.5 lakh, were missing,” Arya said.
“We have taken the CCTV footages from the parlour and have found that a woman was involved in the theft. We are also interrogating the parlour employees and the culprit will be arrested soon,” said a senior police officer requesting anonymity. “There were 12-15 other people present in the room and surprisingly no one noticed it, he further added.
The CCTV footage shows a woman aged around 45-47-years-old, wearing a brown salwar kameez and carrying a yellow polythene bag entering the parlour at around 12:40 pm and running away with the bag.
Manju Madan, the owner of La Grace Beauty parlour denied commenting on the matter.
