Under attack for the tardy preparation for the Commonwealth Games, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Friday directed officials and contractors to "work overtime" to complete the projects linked to the mega sporting event on time.
"There is hardly any time left we all will have to work overtime to honour deadlines," she told a meeting held to review progress of various key infrastructure projects linked to the event.
In the meeting, attended by PWD Minister Raj Kumar Chauhan, she reviewed the progress work of various projects being implemented by the Public Works Department.
The meeting also reviewed the progress of work of Barapula elevated road, Ring Road bypass, Ghazipur grade separator and Uttar Pradesh link road.
"It will be in the fitness of things if these projects are completed by March-2010," she said.
She further underlined the importance of quality construction and directed to clear the hindrances relating to the projects in the shortest possible time.
