Workers on fast against Dhillon’s candidature

A group of Congress workers from the Barnala assembly segment have been sitting on chain hunger strike on the AICC premises here opposing sitting MLA Kewal Dhillon’s candidature from Barnala. The protesters include the Barnala district Congress committee vice-president and other office-bearers.

Jasveer Singh, who claims to be the Barnala DCC vice-president, said they would sit on an indefinite hunger strike from Friday if the party goes ahead with its decision. The protesters have occupied the space in front of Punjab party affairs in-charge Gulchain Singh Charak’s office.
