Actress turned politician Jaya Prada who had her modelling debut at the Wills India Fashion Week today, says that glamour is as important in politics as on the ramp.
Wearing a printed dress with a flowery hairdo, the yesteryears star was the showstopper for designer duo Asheema
and Leena, who also had ex-cricketer Kapil Dev walking the ramp for them in a green Kurta.
The 47-year-old former actress, who is the Samajwadi Party MP from Rampur admitted that she felt nervous before
walking the ramp, but said that the experience was an exhilarating one.
"I am feeling on the top of the world now, but yes, I was nervous before walking. As an actress I have faced the
camera a lot many times but you always feel nervous before the first shot," she said adding that unlike popular perception,
glamour is an important component of politics.
"I am a politician but I am also an actress and you do need glamour in politics. I totally love the look and the hair
that they have designed for me," she said.
The collection which had the theme of 'Go Green' was aimed at welcoming the Commonwealth Games.
"We have brought in the message of Delhi going green during the Commonwealth games, that is why we had Kapil Dev
and Jaya Prada walking for us. The collection is inspired by nature," said Leena.
Models sported flowing dresses with floral prints, in colours like orange, green and pale yellow on the ramp.
