Some senior players
Viru-bhai, are you upset with Dhoni for calling you and Sachin oldies? [He doesn’t respond] [Shouting into his ear] Veeru-bhai, are you upset with Dhoni for calling you and Sachin oldies? Why should
I be upset? In any case, he didn’t call us old, he said that Sachin, Gautam Gambhir and me are in great flow.

Um, I think Dhoni said slow, not ‘in great flow’.

Let me tell you a Naja-fgarh proverb: success has many fathers, failure is an orphan. So if Dhoni wants to blame us seniors for India’s current spate of defeats, all I can say is that he’s no quick-footed spring chicken either.

But are you thinking of retiring while the going is, er, not too terrible?

Arey, Dhoni said what he said in the context of getting more youngsters in for the 2015 World Cup.

But you’ll be 36 and Sachin will be 41 next World Cup, so...

Why do you think Sachin is not scoring his 100th hundred. Because he’ll score it only in 2015 and he’ll be made to play till then.

But you’ll be too old to play by then.

As they say in Najafgarh: you’re never old, just more experienced.

Do say: We, in India, respect our elders

Don’t say: Retirement plans kaar lo mutthi mein!
