State of matter
I must say that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh minced no words when he met Pakistani prime minister Yousaf Gilani at the Seoul summit. What exactly has impressed you so much, I didn’t notice any earth-shattering statement? He told Gilani that
the two countries must do something solid.

As I see it, the situation between the two is more fluid than anything else at all times. They were also apparently very happy to meet again, isn’t that nice?

I am delirious with joy, Gilani must be happy to meet someone who is not looking to stick the knife into his back for a change.

I suppose he has been taking quite a solid beating at home what with the army acting up and all that.

At least with Singh, he’s on firmer ground, I would say solid ground.

This is good, now we have something solid to build on.

Let us hope all this does not turn into dust once Gilani gets back home. We have seen how the ISI effect is able to turn solids into liquids and even gas with one small fiat.

Do say: That’s a solid handshake that Gilani’s got.

Don’t say: The laws of physics don’t work here.
