81.07% pass as Tripura declares Class 12 exam results

Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) recorded a seven-year high pass percentage in the Higher Secondary (Class 12) exams this year, the results for which were declared on Saturday.

Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) recorded a seven-year high pass percentage in the Higher Secondary (Class 12) exams this year, the results for which were declared on Saturday. This year's percentage -- 81.07% -- is 4.26% above last year's.

Arijit Debnath from North Tripura's BB Institution topped the board with 460 marks, while Supratim Datta of Udaipur English Medium Higher Secondary School in Gomati District ranked second with 450 marks. Arindam Bhowmik from Shishu Bihar Higher Secondary School in Agartala came third with 444 marks. He shared his position with Puja Saha of Netaji Subhash Vidya Niketan in Agartala.



A total of 28,222 candidates appeared for the exams this year: This included 16,174 boys and 12,048 girls.



Last year 24,247 candidates had appeared for the exams.



The exams were held at 54 centers across the state between March 2 and April 1.
