The online registration for All-India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Test (AIPMT) for the 2016-17 academic session started on Tuesday. The exam is scheduled to be held at 10am on May 1, 2016.

The AIPMT application form is available online only on the official website www.aipmt.nic.in.

The application fee for the general and OBC candidates is Rs 1,400 (without late fee) or Rs 2,800 (with late fee). For the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/physically handicapped candidates, the fee is Rs 750 (without late fee) or Rs 2,150 (with late fee).

The last date for online registration (without late fee) is January 8 and 12, while the last date for online registration (with late fee) is February 6 and 10, 2016 for general/OBC and SC/ST/PH categories, respectively. The admit cards for the exam will be issued on April 1 and results will be declared on June 5.

Local academician and AIPMT trainer Arvind Goyal said, “Parents and students should not fill the form hurriedly, they should go through the information brochure and detailed instructions, especially regarding the photograph, signature and fee, carefully before attempting to fill the form as once the form is submitted it can neither be corrected, nor resubmitted.”

The CBSE has already issued detailed instructions regarding the banned items and dress code for the day of examination.

Goyal added the parents must see to it that their wards follow the given instructions and reach the exam centre well before time for special security measures that may be required on the spot like frisking.
