Ambedkar University releases first cut-off list

Ambedkar University, Delhi, has released the first cut-off list for its BA honours programmes. The required percentages in mathematics and best three other subjects for NCT general category students for BA (hons) with a major in economics is 88 (for those with arts stream in Class 12), 92 for those with science stream in Class 12, 93 for those with commerce stream in Class 12.

For the BA honours with a major in English, the required percentages in best four subjects in the general category for NCT students in the arts stream in Class 12 is 87, 91 for those with science stream in Class 12 and 92 for those with commerce stream in Class 12. In addition to these requirements, candidates must have secured at least 65% in English in the Class 12 examination. For the BA (hons) with major in history programme, the required percentages in best of four subjects for general NCT category candidates from the arts stream is 82, 86 for those from the science stream and 87 for those in the commerce stream.

Candidates who have applied to the university in the prescribed form and meet the cut-off percentages for different programmes (by category) are offered provisional admission to the respective BA (hons) programmes in the academic session 2013-14.

Admission will be subject to verification of the original documents and the meeting of all eligibility conditions. The cut-off percentages vary across different streams of the Class 12 examination. Candidates eligible for admission in more than one programme can only take admission in one programme.

Shortlisted candidates need to report to the admission counter at the Kashmere Gate campus for verification of documents and payment of fees from July 2 to July 4, 2013 between 10am and 4pm. If a candidate fails to take admission, his/her seat will be allotted to the next person in the merit.

The candidates have to submit the following documents at the time of admission: original certificates, filled in duly signed admission form, photocopy of marksheet of the 10+2 examination, photocopies of the Class 10 and Class 12 certificates, certificate of reserved category (only for candidates admitted under the reserved category), proof of NCT category (only for candidates admitted under the NCT category), two affidavits on a Rs. 10 non-judicial stamp paper each – one by student and another by guardian/parent against ragging, demand draft for R18,500 in the name of Ambedkar University, Delhi payable at New Delhi, and two passport sized photographs.
