Continuing with our budget buy shopping spree this year, we revisit our favourite street haunts in Janpath, Sarojini Nagar, Lajpat Nagar and Kamla Nagar to look for some reasonably priced but interesting outfits for college.
Any student on a tight budget will be delighted to see the colourful skirts – printed, plain, split down the sides, all priced between Rs 60 and Rs 150.
You’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to jeans. From boot cut to skinny, fit and flare, different styles are priced at about Rs 150. Also, your best options to beat the heat and humidity of the monsoons are colourful short dresses – again available in different styles at the Sarojini Nagar market.
Tops and tank tops in various designs, with short and full sleeves, embroidery, lace, stones – even plain ones can be bought from Janpath for just Rs 100. You can match these with smart, funky cotton pyjamas. Look for them in the Kamla Nagar market.
Since dungarees are also in vogue in this season, give the expensive branded ones a miss and choose some really reasonably priced ones. You can also match them with some really fancy pumps or sneakers. Contrasting colours will really liven things up.
Mixing and matching is also fun. Try to team up skirts and dresses with colourful stoles in bright prints. Wear tank tops and kurtis with pyjamas and legging - or jeans for that matter.
