The Common Aptitude Test for English (CATE) for 2011 is slated to be held on June 5, 2011, across 22 venues in Delhi. This year, 21 Delhi University colleges have opted for CATE. Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Rajdhani College, Kirori Mal College and Vivekananda College are among the new entrants to the list of colleges that admit students to their English programme through the commonly test organised by DU.

The OMR (Optical Mark Reader) application form along with the information bulletin can be purchased and submitted at the following centres from May 16 to 26, 2011:

The forms are available on payment of R300 through a bank draft drawn in favour of The Registrar, University of Delhi, drawn on any branch of the following banks: State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, ICICI Bank or HDFC Bank, payable at Delhi.

Apply for education programmes
The Faculty of Education, University of Delhi has announced the admission schedule for BElEd (Bachelor of Elementary Education), BEd and M Ed.

The four-year BElEd programme is open to applicants who completed 10+2 years of education. The minimum eligibility requirement for the one-year BEd course is graduation. The M Ed course is offered in full-time and part-time modules.

A separate Common Entrance Test will be conducted for each of the courses. Details regarding submission of the application forms, institutions offering the courses and more are available on the website of the Central Institute of Education (http://cie.du.ac.in). The prospectus and form are available at only the following branches of the State Bank of India: North Campus, Delhi University; Gargi College; Shahdara; Prahant Vihar; Sector 11, Dwarka; and B-Block, Connaught Place.

To receive the form and prospectus by post, the students can write to the Dean, The Faculty of Education, Delhi University, Delhi-110007 mentioning the name of the programme along with:
. Bank Draft of R425 from a nationalised bank, payable at Delhi, drawn in favour of the Registrar, University of Delhi
. A self-addressed envelope (29.5cm X 21cm)
